GED Testing

GED Test Subjects:

The GED consists of four subject-area tests: Science, Social Studies, Mathematical Reasoning, and Reasoning Through Language Arts. These tests are taken individually over multiple days. To earn a GED credential, test-takers must score at least 145 out of 200 on each subtest.

Cost:

Each GED subtest costs $37.50 when taken in person at an official testing center, or $43.50 when taken virtually from home. GED Ready practice tests are $7.99 per subject, whether taken on-site or online.

Rock Hill Adult Education students may be eligible to take these tests for free based on qualifying GED Ready scores, and those who do not pass on their first attempt can receive discounted retake rates.

Scholarships:

Students enrolled at Rock Hill Adult Education have the opportunity to earn scholarships that help cover the cost of GED Ready practice tests and official GED subtests. By earning a score of 145 or higher on each GED Ready and then taking and passing the corresponding GED subtests in person at our testing center, students can save up to $180.

IEP and 504 Accommodations:

Students with an IEP or 504 accommodation plan may apply for and receive approved testing accommodations on both the GED Ready practice tests and official GED exams.  Rock Hill Adult Education has a certified special education teacher available to assist with this process.
